Goodbye T-Shirt Weather: Embracing the Transition to Cold in October

October is the month when autumn truly arrives in Berlin. The days become noticeably shorter, the nights colder, and a jacket becomes a constant companion. It is a time of transition, where we say goodbye to summer and get ready for the cozy season.

What Changes in October

Average temperatures drop significantly. While daytime highs can still reach a pleasant 13-15°C, nights can already drop to 6°C or below. The first night frost is no longer a rarity in late October, especially in the outskirts.

At the same time, we lose almost two hours of daylight over the course of October. The sun sets earlier, making the evenings longer and the mornings darker. It's the perfect time to make your home cozy, light candles, and check the heating.
